Softball

Varsity Head Coach

Lisa Fraticola will enter her third season as the Head Coach for the York Dukes after assisting on Varsity for five years. Fraticola began her coaching career with the Minooka Indians in 2013 before joining the staff at York as the Head JV Coach in 2016. She worked to develop players and contributed to the program's success and state appearance in 2017. Fraticola prides herself on empowering players to succeed, both on and off of the field. She brings a strong passion for the game and a high level of energy with her in this role. Fraticola played through college on the NCSA softball team at Illinois State University. She currently teaches Spanish and is the EL Department Coordinator at York.

Varsity Assistant Coach

Stefanie Guercio is entering her third season with the Dukes as the Assistant Varsity coach. She enjoys working with young athletes to improve their softball skills and mechanics of the game. Coach Guercio graduated from Carthage College with a math education degree, where she pitched for the Lady Reds. She achieved many accolades including 1st team All-American, holding single season strikeout and shutout records and was a part of the 2019 Regional Championship team. She uses her experience to teach young pitchers the fundamentals of different pitches and the importance of teamwork the game requires. She is currently working as a teacher for both the EL and Math departments at York.

Team Manager

George Tasson, an Elmhurst native, will be joining the program for his 25th season with the Dukes. He has watched generations of players develop both on and off of the field. George's role has evolved over the years, as he is a man of many trades. George built the first drag in 2003 and adapted it to work with the golf cart. Over the years, he has modified and maintained the drag to enhance its operation and prepare the fields for practices and games. George is also the Official Scorekeeper for the Dukes. He plays a vital role in supporting the field, the players and the coaches.

JV 1 Coach

Kiersten Tinkoff is entering her first season with the Dukes as the JV1 Head Coach. She is beyond excited about the opportunity to coach Softball at YHS! Coach Tink spent the last 4 years as a counselor and coach at Barrington High School. Coach Tink was the Head JV2 Softball Coach ('24), Assistant JV1 Softball Coach ('23), and the Assistant Barrington Hurricanes Travel Coach ('21-'22). Coach Tink is passionate about inspiring her athletes to give their very best and set high goals for both themselves and the team. While winning is always the ultimate team goal in any sport, Coach Tink believes it is most important how athletes are developing as teammates and people. Coach Tink graduated from North Central College where she played first base and was a left-handed power hitter for the Cardinals. She is currently a counselor at York.

JV 2 Coach

Melissa Folsom, an Elmhurst native and York softball alum, is entering her first season with the Dukes as the JV2 (Fresh/Soph) Coach. She played collegiately as a catcher/infielder for Saint Xavier University where 2 of the years there they made it back-to-back seasons to the NAIA Softball World Series Tournament. She graduated from SXU with her Bachelor of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Coach Folsom then continued her schooling in the same field of study, graduating from Elmhurst University with her Master’s degree. Folsom began her coaching career while still in college training youth at all age levels in the skills and fundamentals of softball at the Chicago White Sox and Training Academy. Coach Folsom’s passion to develop young athletes has continued where in her free time she’s currently the head softball coach for a travel softball team as well as trains softball athletes at the Bo Jackson Elite Sports Dome. Coach Folsom enjoys working with athletes to develop their skills, character, confidence and competition and can't wait to coach with the Dukes!
