Hawthorne Happening - Creepy Carnival
Saturday, October 22, 2016, 4 - 7 pm
A huge THANK YOU to Andrea O'Connor for her tireless work making the Hawthorne Happening one of the best of all time! We owe a big debt of gratitude to the entire Hawthorne Happening Committee: Jessica Buenz, Karen Fitzer,Wendy Hronek, Julie Kapotas, Amy Kinsella, Anna Wick and Anne Zimmer. And a special thank you to Hawthorne Custodian, Ramon Alcantar, aka MacGyver, for going above and beyond and helping to transform the old gym into the big tent.
The Hawthorne Happening "Creepy Carnival" was a great success! On behalf of the Hawthorne Happening Committee and the PTA, thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered to work the event, helped decorate and/or helped clean up! We hope you all had a great time and we thank you for your generosity!

How PTA Money Raised is Spent
The REACH PTA
Was you child just identified for REACH services? Not sure what this means or how to support your child? The REACH PTA is a parent group dedicated to supporting gifted and talented programs in District 205 and encouraging higher level educational opportunities for ALL District 205 students. Our area of focus includes:
- Providing parent resources for gifted and advanced learners
- Organizing advocacy at local and national levels
- Sponsoring and/or promoting academic-based extra-curricular activities that are accessible to all students
- Collaborating with REACH teachers to provide additional resources and student opportunities.

Hawthorne PTA MIssion
The mission of the Hawthorne PTA is to volunteer in the interest of the children, to encourage understanding and cooperation between parents and teachers, and to promote programs that benefit the success of children’s learning. The Hawthorne PTA supports education through active participation and advocacy.
