All 5th graders are invited to the “Take the Plunge into Middle School” Pool Party
Saturday, May 2nd from 6-8 PM at the Oak Brook Aquatic Center (1450 Forest Gate Rd, Oak Brook)
This free event is open to all 5th grade students but you must register on the PTA webstore by April 28th. Your online registration will serve as your child's permission and each child must be registered in order to attend. Students will be served pizza and dessert.
We will need volunteers for the event to serve food, monitor locker rooms, do sign in, etc. We will need 3-4 dads to monitor the Boys locker room. If you would like to donate food items for the event and/or volunteer to help, please click here http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c4facad22a4fa7-take. Please note that due to the new District 205 Food policy, all food donations must be pre-packaged and unopened.
We will send out more information as the date nears.
Order Your Hawthorne Yearbook Today!
For the past two years, we have collected the Dixon Ticonderoga pencil boxes that are distributed with the school supplies ordered through the Hawthorne PTA in order to save the Prang Power points on each box. This year Mr. Wesseler used the points earned to order art supplies from Dixon for Hawthorne School. The items ordered included 15 Tempera Cake Sets, 10 Half Pan Watercolor Paint Sets, and 21 Art Marker Sets. The attached picture shows all the great FREE items that we earned.
Thanks for your help with this program!
Help Finish the Bottle Cap Mosaic!
The PTA Go Green Committee needs more plastic bottle caps to finish the three-panel mosaic that was started last spring during Earth Week. We need these colors: BLUES, GREENS, BROWNS, GRAYS, PURPLES & BLACK from milk jugs, beverage bottles - you name it! Please wash caps thoroughly in warm, soapy water. No nut butter caps please. A collection bin is in the main hallway.
