All School Swim Party Friday, June 15th to Benefit the Hawthorne PTA

All Hawthorne students, friends and siblings are invited to celebrating another awesome year at Hawthorne and to kick off summer break. This private party, which will include awesome water slides, pizza and more, will be held at Bensenville Water Park on Friday, June 15th from 7:15-9:15 pm.

 

This is a Hawthorne Happening Buy-In Party which the host families have generously re-opened. To confirm you registered and paid back in October, simply check the list found here.

 

For students, friends and siblings that have not yet registered but would like to attend, simply register here. The cost is $15 per person to benefit the Hawthorne PTA and all their great programs. No charge for parents that wish to attend. Students who will be in K through 2nd grade FALL 2018 will be required to have a responsible adult at the event supervising them. Children (students/siblings) ages 6 and under will be required to have a responsible adult in the water with them. Students who will be in 3rd through 6th grade FALL 2018 are allowed to be dropped off. Lifeguards will be on duty.

The more the merrier - invite your family, friends and neighbors. All proceeds go directly to fund Hawthorne PTA programs. Contact Amy Kinsella with questions.

The Hawthorne PTA delivered $500 in new, and much needed, playground equipment to the school... balls, jump ropes and hula hoops!!!


 

2018-2019 School Supplies

Order your 2018-2019 School Supplies HERE! Grade specific school supplies lists can be found HERE. Order Cutoff date is June 15th, 2018. Kits will be delivered to the school for pick-up in the Old Gym on August 13th, 4 - 6 pm. 

 

When ordering supplies be sure to select boy or girl if pertains to your grade. Please note that head phones are not included in the kit, but there is an option to include them. Lastly, if you choose to purchase your supplies on your own you have the option to purchase head phones, the mead filer for 5th grade and the mini messenger bag for 4th and 5th grade separately through the school supply web-site. If you have any questions please contact: Adriana Sjullie or Lori Harges.

Morning Drop-Off Procedures

We have nearly 500 children arriving between 8:00 and 8:12 am every morning. The following procedures have been updated to address the traffic and safety issues the communities of Hawthorne, Immaculate Conception and Elmhurst are experiencing. These procedures should be taken seriously, as your child’s safety is our absolute first priority.

Communicate with other Hawthorne families online or through the smartphone app. Loaded with features, such as the auto dial when you click on a phone number, or the auto launching of maps when you click on an address. If you hold down the cell phone number, you will get an option to send a text or call the number (iPhone only). DirectorySpot will even create an email if you click on someone's email address.

The REACH PTA

Was you child just identified for REACH services?  Not sure what this means or how to support your child?  The REACH PTA is a parent group dedicated to supporting gifted and talented programs in District 205 and encouraging higher level educational opportunities for ALL District 205 students.  Our area of focus includes:

  • Providing parent resources for gifted and advanced learners
  • Organizing advocacy at local and national levels
  • Sponsoring and/or promoting academic-based extra-curricular activities that are accessible to all students
  • Collaborating with REACH teachers to provide additional resources and student opportunities.

Hawthorne PTA MIssion

The mission of the Hawthorne PTA is to volunteer in the interest of the children, to encourage understanding and cooperation between parents and teachers, and to promote programs that benefit the success of children’s learning. The Hawthorne PTA supports education through active participation and advocacy.
